The Kindergarten program at Vision Montessori is an all-day program from 9:30am to 3:00pm. During the morning cycle the Kindergarten students work on many different Montessori extensions with the materials in the classroom.

 

The lessons are individualized for each child and meet their own learning needs. The Kindergarten students are encouraged to be leaders in the classroom and serve as mentors to the younger students. The older children in our classroom often give lessons to the younger children which helps solidify what they know by teaching it to the younger child. After lunch between 1:00pm and 3:00pm, the Kindergarten students work in a small group setting. During this period the children receive additional one on one instruction with the teacher and also at times will work on more advanced collaborative projects with just the other Kindergarten students.

 

Occasionally the students will have a mini assignment to do at home with the guidance of their parents. The teacher’s goals are to have their students become problem solvers and analytical thinkers.
