October will be a month filled with crisp autumn air, colorful leaves, festive celebrations, and hands‑on learning across all Vision Montessori classrooms. Each level will explore fall themes in developmentally appropriate ways while building academic, social, and creative skills.

Classroom Highlights​

• Infants: Our infants will enjoy a gentle introduction to the wonders of fall. They will explore seasonal textures such as crunchy leaves, pumpkins, pinecones, and other natural materials that support sensory development. Teachers will guide infants through autumn songs, movement activities, cozy stories, and simple crafts that encourage curiosity, fine motor development, and early language skills. Halloween week will bring cheerful costumes and themed sensory bins designed to spark imagination in an age‑appropriate way.

• Toddlers:  Toddlers will embark on a month of lively autumn exploration. They will begin by learning about acorns and how they help trees grow, followed by a fun study of chipmunks and their habitats. Throughout October, toddlers will: Review letters e, f, g with phonetic sounds, recognize numbers 7, 8, 9, explore land/water, continents, weather, animals, and simple maps, and participate in hands‑on science activities and experiments. Pumpkin fun, harvest projects, and Halloween art will round out a month filled with creativity, movement, and joyful learning.

• Primary: Primary students will dive into seasonal learning with a blend of nature study, cultural lessons, and hands‑on exploration. They will begin by learning about acorns and how they help trees grow, followed by a study of squirrels and their habits. As the month continues, children will learn about the significance of Columbus Day, explore pumpkins, fall traditions, and harvest themes, and participate in creative art, songs, and stories connected to autumn The month will end with festive Halloween activities that encourage imagination, collaboration, and seasonal celebration.

• Kindergarten: Kindergarteners will experience a rich blend of academic learning and seasonal exploration. Their October curriculum will include:

  • Language: Phonetic sounds, blending, ending sounds, comprehension, and writing

  • Math: Numbers, addition, subtraction, and word problems at each child’s pace

  • Geography: Countries and continents

  • Science: Hands‑on activities and experiments

Kindergarteners will strengthen academic confidence while enjoying the excitement of fall.
